FluidCalc

The FluidCalc: Rehydration Calculator is a decision-support tool for clinical providers who manage patients with diarrheal disease. FluidCalc digitizes both how to assess dehydration and what volume of fluids are needed to rehydrate patients. Depending on user preference, dehydration is assessed using one of two algorithms: the DHAKA Score for children less than 5 years of age and the NIRUDAK model for children 5 years and older, OR the World Health Organization (WHO) guideline for assessing dehydration in the context of diarrheal disease (all ages). The medication and fluid recommendations follow WHO guidelines; the settings menu allows for localizations that are common in clinical situations where WHO guidelines are used.
